Frederic J. Happy

Senior Vice President and Managing Director

Frederic J. “Rick” Happy, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, joined CCS in 1986. Rick is one of twelve partners who own and manage the firm, with direct responsibility for operations in the western United States and Canada. Over the past two decades, Rick has provided professional counsel to numerous educational, healthcare, civic, environmental, and religious institutions, directing over 100 capital campaigns, which have raised a combined total exceeding $1 billion. Rick has personally managed individual campaigns with goals as high as $30 million, $75 million, and $150 million.

Rick’s extensive experience includes capital campaign consulting and management; endowment fund raising; feasibility and planning design and implementation; telemarketing; public relations; foundation and corporate giving; major gift solicitation; and pledge redemption.

A graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, Rick and his wife Kate and three children reside in Clayton, California.
