Founded in 1992, New Economic School (NES) was created to introduce modern economics into Russia as a critical part of the transition to a market economy. NES today is a centre of excellence in economic research, training and policy development. CCS assisted the School with campaign planning, systems and strategies leading to seven-figure commitments, and the recruitment of high quality campaign leadership. CCS worked with the School’s leadership to design a systematic approach to prospect identification, cultivation and management in Moscow, London, and New York. An indication of the School’s growing importance and stature, in July 2009, United States President Barack Obama spoke at the New Economic School’s 16th commencement ceremonies (photo above).
Weill Cornell Medical College seeks to raise $1.3 billion in philanthropy to fund a variety of initiatives that will enhance Weill Cornell's research enterprise. Constructing a new biomedical research building, which will focus on translational research programs is the largest component of the case for support. In addition, programmatic support for both research and clinical initiatives, including faculty recruitment and retention, and strategic investments in programs that will have a meaningful impact on the treatment of diseases is crucial.

CCS is proud to assist Wagner College, President Richard Guarasci, and the Institutional Advancement Team with a $50 million campaign entitled Putting Wagner First. This extraordinary endeavor, the largest in the history of the New York City-based college, will provide the financial resources to make significant investments in students and faculty through increased scholarships, tuition assistance, and support. The campaign will also improve the campus through the construction of a new state-of-the-art academic building and renovations to existing facilities. In just the first phase of activity, this fund-raising effort has generated $45.1 million, including a cornerstone gift of $10 million. This represents the largest gift in the history of Wagner College and has helped attract ten other seven-figure-plus gifts to Putting Wagner First.

The University of North Carolina System is composed of all 16 of North Carolina’s public institutions that grant baccalaureate degrees, as well as the NC School of Science and Mathematics, the nation’s first public residential high school for gifted students. CCS conducted a comprehensive development assessment for 11 campuses and affiliated organizations of the UNC System. The assessment included an in-depth evaluation of each institution’s development program across ten performance measurement categories, benchmarking analysis, and recommendations for increasing philanthropic revenue. In a time when private support for public education is more important than ever, CCS was privileged to play a role in helping strengthen the system’s development programs.

In 1999, Nigeria returned to democratic rule, allowing its universities an opportunity to rebuild after years of neglect and decline. With this great opportunity came the need to mobilize alumni, friends, and non-governmental organizations. In 2004, the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) was created as a collaborative effort between the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and CCS. The NHEF is based upon the belief that strong universities and intellectual freedom are essential to developing and sustaining healthy democratic societies. The NHEF strives to increase global awareness for Nigerian universities, identify and bring in philanthropic resources, oversee the strategic planning for university development, and steward the dissemination of resources for the universities. The NHEF currently supports four universities: Ahmadu Bello University, Bayero University, University of Ibadan, and University of Port Harcourt. CCS is pleased to advise and assist the NHEF in these efforts.
