Catholic
Forward in Faith
Archdiocese of Washington, D.C.
In January 2004, the Archdiocese of Washington embarked on the Forward in Faith campaign to raise a minimum of $135 million to build endowment dollars for Catholic Education and Charities, Pastoral Services, Multi-Cultural Apostolates and Ministries, Ministry Enhancement, and individual parishes. CCS is proud to have partnered with the Archdiocese to plan, develop, and implement Forward in Faith, a campaign that ultimately raised $185 million. Highlights include: 110 gifts of $100,000+ secured, an average gift of $4,500, and more than $100 million raised from parishes.
The Diocese of Allentown serves more than 95,000 registered families in 153 parishes in the five Pennsylvania counties of Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton, and Schuylkill. There are 13,400 students enrolled in 52 elementary schools and more than 4,100 students in 9 high schools in the diocese. There are two Catholic colleges, 3 Catholic hospitals, 2 elderly care facilities and numerous Catholic charities within the diocese. CCS assisted the Diocese of Allentown in raising more than $54,000,000 on a $28,000,000 goal in the Strengthening Our Future in Faith campaign.
The Diocese of San Jose undertook a $100 million capital and endowment campaign beginning in January 2005. Rooted in Faith – Embracing Our Future exceeded its goal and raised more than $116 million. CCS is honored to have been part of this historic effort that garnered $30 million from the first 50 donors during the Bishop's Phase of the campaign. The campaign will ensure that the Diocese fulfills a comprehensive pastoral plan focusing on both current and future needs.
In January 2008, the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois launched a capital campaign to fund the restoration and renewal of its 80-year old Cathedral. CCS is honored to assist Bishop Lucas and the Diocese with the Built on Faith, Renewed in Hope campaign that is well on its way to achieving its minimum goal of $6,000,000.
St. John Fisher Catholic Church, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA
CCS assisted Msgr. David A. Sork and the parishioners of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in exceeding its $15,000,000 goal, raising $15,300,249 from more than 700 gifts. Building Community – Celebrating Faith will support the construction of a new church, renovation of existing parish facilities, and development of the parish's building program.
The Campaign for St. Bart's: Save the Landmark. Serve the City
St. Bartholomew’s Church, New York, New York
Designated a New York landmark and listed in the State and National Register of Historic Places, St. Bartholomew’s Church on Park Avenue is an icon of midtown Manhattan and part of the fabric of New York City. The age of buildings – compounded by decades of wear and tear – has created high maintenance demands and substantial on-going costs to the Church. Under the leadership of Reverend William McD. Tully, St. Bartholomew’s Church engaged CCS to guide its campaign to support a multi-phased renovation and restoration project. The first phase, which seeks to raise $30 million, has yielded unprecedented individual and corporate support. CCS is proud to partner with Reverend Tully and the St. Bart’s community on this historic endeavor.
Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, New York, NY
Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion was founded in 1875 and now has campuses in New York, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, and Jerusalem. HUC-JIR has established itself as the academic and professional development center of Reform Judaism. Its Rabbinic, Cantorial, Communal service and Educational professionals work with communities and institutions worldwide. The nearly 900 Reform Congregations are served by HUC-JIR today. CCS assisted Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in raising $135 million to ensure that the College-Institute remains the academic heart and soul of the Reform Movement through faculty development funds, student scholarships, library and technology improvements and annual support.
By resolution at the 2004 Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) convention, delegates endorsed a movement named Ablaze! to share the Gospel with 100 million people worldwide. The convention also resolved to raise $100 million above the current LCMS World Mission budget through a fund-raising effort called Fan Into Flame to support Ablaze! CCS is honored to partner with all of the 35 districts and 6,200+ congregations of the LCMS on the Fan Into Flame campaign.
Casting Nets. Saving Lives: The Lutheran Malaria Initiative
Lutheran World Relief, Baltimore, MD
Lutheran World Relief (LWR) is a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS), individuals, and parish groups in international relief, development, advocacy, and social responsibility. LWR works with partners to reduce poverty and injustice by helping rural communities increase and expand the resources they need to live productive, healthy and empowered lives.
CCS conducted a national study for LWR to test a campaign to leverage existing networks of U.S. Lutherans to raise resources and awareness for the Lutheran Malaria Initiative, and to invest those resources in proven strategies to contain malaria. CCS is currently working with LWR in the planning phase of this historic $75 million campaign.
New England Conference of the United Methodist Church
Spread across six states, the New England Conference of the United Methodist Church represents more than 500 churches – with active memberships ranging from 8 to over 200 active members. In Together for Tomorrow, conference members accepted the challenge of raising $10 million to support congregational development, pastoral health care in retirement, international missions in Nicaragua and West Angola, camp and retreat ministries, and local church priorities. By June 2006, the conference had recorded more than $15.6 million in pledges.
Founded in 1716, First Presbyterian Church has enjoyed nearly 300 years of inspiring worship, powerful preaching, glorious music, progressive ministries, community service and outreach to the city and its people. Located in Greenwich Village, First Church has a growing membership of over 1100 adults and children from the five boroughs, Westchester, Long Island and New Jersey. The First for the Future Campaign is a $15 million initiative that will transform the center for program life at the Church which houses ministry offices, Church School, a nursery school, NYC P.S. 226, various community programs and a homeless shelter.
