Often we hear how emerging non-profits and those positioned for transformational moments are anxious about partnering with a newly formed and small consultancy. Thus they are more confident when retaining a well established firm with comprehensive services to help execute such monumental mission fulfillment. |

Now, more than ever, the collective work of Feeding America’s network is critical. Every day, more individuals are forced to choose between food and other basic needs. In response, Feeding America is embarking on the most ambitious period of growth in its history, charting a new course that will result in significant strides toward ending hunger in America. To help accelerate this growth, CCS is honored to be assisting Feeding America in developing and implementing Feeding America’s Campaign Resource Center (CRC). Coordinated through Feeding America’s national office in Chicago, the CRC has been established to support and expand the fundraising operations and capacity of Feeding America’s 206 network members. The CRC is a complete philanthropy and fund-raising resource, offering tools for members at all stages of development operations.
Established in 1910, the National Urban League is the nation’s oldest and largest community-based movement devoted to empowering African Americans and other underserved persons to enter the economic and social mainstream. In preparation for the movement’s Centennial Celebration in 2010, the organization has partnered with CCS for Project Rock, an innovative initiative working directly with five of 97 Urban League Affiliates, to strengthen fund-raising knowledge and capacity across the movement. The results of Project Rock have already proved fruitful. In 2009, the five Project Rock Affiliates reported raising 63% more over 2008. The fund-raising knowledge that has been shared with the five Project Rock Affiliates will be distributed to the larger movement as part of a customized Executive Fund-raising Academy.
The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF), the leading no-kill shelter for cats and dogs on the East End of Long Island, has found homes for 15,000 animals. ARF decided to mark the milestone by launching the Securing Our Future Campaign. CCS is proud to have partnered with ARF in surpassing their campaign goal of $10 million, the largest campaign in the organization’s 34-year history. The funds raised have fostered the purchase of a thrift shop, allowed for market research studies to expand pet-related services, and provided a $6 million endowment to sustain ARF’s life-saving programs and maintain its state-of-the-art adoption center.
Designed specifically for people living with physical disabilities and chronic illness, the Goodwill Fitness Center is the first of its kind in Orange County, California. This new 12,000-square-foot facility, located in the heart of Orange County, features state-of-the-art, fully accessible equipment, specialized trainers and an extended physical therapy program. CCS guided Goodwill of Orange County in its first capital campaign effort that raised nearly $7 million to fund the purchase of the building, interior modifications, equipment and two years of program expense.
Fifty years ago, the Sisters of St. Benedict in Ridgely, Maryland, had a revolutionary plan: to give children and adults with developmental disabilities the chance to learn, live, and explore their full potential in a loving environment. Today, their cutting-edge concept has blossomed into Benedictine Programs and Services: a school, Open Community program, and residential, therapeutic, and vocational services for 200 children and adults each year. With the help of CCS, Benedictine’s $10 million comprehensive campaign, It’s All About the Kids, successfully surpassed its goal. Benedictine can now evaluate existing programs, analyze new methods, and initiate pilot programs; continue to recruit gifted and dedicated staff, and provide necessary professional development; increase and stabilize tuition assistance; and ensure a modern and safe environment on campus and in its homes. Most importantly, Benedictine can continue to give people with special needs the chance to fully engage with the world around them. And for each new child who comes to Benedictine, that is still a revolutionary idea.
Habitat for Humanity International was founded in 1976 and is now a worldwide grass-roots movement dedicated to the elimination of poverty housing. Operating in more than 80 countries around the world, more than 1 million people live in Habitat homes throughout the world. The More Than Houses Campaign, chaired by former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Jack Kemp, raised more than $593,775,000 on its $500,000,000 goal and funded the construction of 100,000+ homes over the past five years.
For 113 years, the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services (JBFCS) has responded to the challenges of each era with innovative, research-validated, caring programs. Today JBFCS is one of the largest nonprofit, nonsectarian mental health and social services agencies in the nation. With a budget of more than $156 million, its 3,200 staff and 2,000 volunteers serve approximately 65,000 New Yorkers in a year. JBFCS launched a $75 million comprehensive campaign to address the changing needs of the New York community by providing the highest quality mental health and social service programs, supported by research and backed by advanced professional education for its social workers and other mental health specialists. CCS is proud to have conducted the Feasibility and Planning Study for JBFCS, and to have assisted them in reaching their Phase I goal of $45 million.
