CCS worked with ASPCA to reevaluate and redesign the structure of its fundraising strategy, which helped attract more major donors and increased support for the organization’s annual operations.

American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

Based in: New York, NY, Northeast U.S., United States

Sector: Environment & Animals

The Challenge

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is the first humane society in North America. Today, the organization is the nation’s leading companion animal welfare organization. ASPCA receives no public financial support and relies on its major donor partners to champion their cause. ASPCA wanted to maintain its position as the nation’s leading organization for animal rescue, adoption, and welfare.

The Solution

CCS assisted the ASPCA in reevaluating its fundraising philosophy and implementing best practices to raise the sights of the donors and increase giving levels. This included implementing a portfolio refinement process and a moves management system, developing strategies for personal visits, creating high-level giving societies to attract donors, and introducing improved tools to support the ASPCA’s goals.

The Impact

ASCPA is celebrating 150 years of working to put an end to animal abuse and neglect. Thanks to the generosity of their committed donors, the ASPCA continues to lead in the areas of animal rescue, adoption, and welfare. Through their major gift support, donors have helped move at-risk animals to better homes, enabling the organization to continue rescuing, evaluating, and transporting victims of animal cruelty.
