Gary Hawkins has spent his professional career working with nonprofit organizations in fundraising and nonprofit management. Gary is passionate about philanthropy at large and feels particularly connected to the selfless, mission-driven people and organizations that comprise the industry.
During his 20 years at CCS, Gary has taken great pride in the relationships he has developed. He considers these strong connections to be at the center of every successful engagement. With his clients, Gary seeks to lead with purpose and following through on intent. He enjoys crafting strategic approaches aimed at building stronger relationships with new and established donors, community leaders, and volunteers.
As Managing Director, Gary oversees CCS’s operations across the Southern U.S. He has supported clients across all sectors with capital campaigns, annual fundraising endeavors, development assessments, organizational development, board recruitment and training, and even provided interim development management at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra prior to his role as Managing Director. His primary areas of expertise are major gifts, training and orientation, board development, and strategic planning.
Outside of being a manager, advisor, and coach in his day-to-day role at CCS, Gary has spoken at various firm- and industry-wide webinars and at AFP functions as part of his ongoing commitment to advance the philanthropic industry.
Recent clients include the University of New Orleans, University of Texas at Dallas, Ronald McDonald House of Southern Louisiana, Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas, Dioceses of Austin and Tyler, and Saint Michael and all Angels Episcopal Church, Dallas.
