Kat’s career has focused on helping donors and institutions translate good intentions into meaningful and measurable impact. She serves on the CCS Board of Directors, where she brings deep experience in philanthropy, nonprofit governance, and social impact strategy.
As the Founding Executive Director of the Center for High Impact Philanthropy at the University of Pennsylvania, Kat leads research and education on effective giving and helps shape national conversations about philanthropic impact. She also serves as faculty co-director of the High Impact Philanthropy Academy, adjunct faculty at Penn’s School of Social Policy and Practice, and a senior fellow at the Wharton Center on Leadership and Change Management. She is a frequent speaker on philanthropy and social impact management and has lectured at institutions including Stanford Graduate School of Business, Wharton, UC Berkeley Haas, and the University of San Francisco.
Earlier in her career, Kat worked with McKinsey & Company, supported the founding team of New Schools Venture Fund, served as the founding director of Board Match Plus—a San Francisco initiative focused on strengthening nonprofit boards, and held roles within Wells Fargo’s Corporate Community Development Group.
Kat serves on the national board of Greenlight Fund and co-chairs Greenlight Fund Philadelphia. She previously chaired the board of Candid, the world’s largest source of data on nonprofits and foundations, and has held leadership roles with organizations including La Casa de las Madres and United Way of the Bay Area. She is also a co-founder and former executive committee member of the Women’s MBA Network.
Her leadership has been recognized with honors including the Wharton Women in Business Kathleen McDonald Distinguished Alumna Award, the Brava! Women Business Achievement Award, and the Margaret Bailey Speer Award.
Kat earned her BA from Yale University and her MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She and her husband live in Philadelphia with their three children.
