our partnership

Founded in 1914, the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School achieves exceptional academic results and has a well-deserved reputation for excellence. The School aims, through the provision of a Catholic ethos and sound Catholic teaching, to prepare its pupils to undertake their responsibilities as Catholics in society. It is a non-fee-paying school, and as a result has an incredibly diverse community.

Planning Phase which gathered input from more than 600 members of the Vaughan’s community of parents, alumni and friends. Working together, CCS supported the Vaughan to implement the school’s first ever fundraising campaign, raising its goal of £7 million, including £4.5 million from private philanthropy. Entitled Love and Service, the initiative secured 70 of the institution’s largest ever gifts, including over 200 five- and six-figure commitments. Many of the donors shared that their pledges to the School were the most generous they had ever made.

The generosity of the Vaughan’s community enabled the School to accelerate work on an innovative science laboratory, invest in new opportunities for teachers and expand the pastoral support for pupils. The campaign also helped transform the culture of philanthropy at the Vaughan, positioning the School to continue to provide an exceptional Catholic formation in the years and decades ahead. To maximise this opportunity, CCS also worked with the School to recruit and train an in-house Development Manager.
