Barri joined CCS in 2010, bringing eight years of experience in the legal profession. Barri concentrated on family law and immigration issues, as well as corporate litigation and restructuring.

At CCS, Barri has counseled clients on planning studies and development department assessments, in addition to campaign activation and implementation. Barri practices as a generalist and has a breadth of sector experience in independent schools, higher education, hospitals and healthcare, advocacy, federated organizations, religious centers, and cultural institutions.

Fundraising goals under Barri’s purview range from $10 million to $1.2 billion. During Barri’s tenure with CCS, she has led organizations through nationwide planning studies, intensive campaign goal-setting, case development, and pipeline building. Barri advises on the resources needed to build, enhance, and sustain ambitious fundraising goals, such as volunteer leadership structures, staffing requirements, and incorporating critical fundraising tools into everyday practice. She presents complicated and nuanced information to leadership and has advised on donor engagement and solicitations for 6-9 figure gifts.

Barri received her BA from University of Michigan and her JD from Brooklyn Law School.

In her current role, Janine is responsible for leading CCS’ overall people strategy, talent acquisition and management; employee professional development from onboarding to leadership development; and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. She also oversees organizational design and cultural development, compensation, and benefits. “Recruitment and retention are essential for CCS because our people are our business. We are only as good as our people, and we are fortunate to have amazing, smart people as our colleagues,” says Janine. She works with leaders across the firm and regional locations to maintain and build a dynamic organization that reflects and supports the firm’s values, mission, and purpose.

During her tenure with the firm, Janine has overseen efforts that have resulted in numerous accomplishments: a tripling the firm’s personnel, more effective and streamlined companywide talent acquisition practices in partnership with regional offices, a companywide diversity and inclusion strategy, a fair and equitable compensation structure and practice with salary bands, and the launch of several employee resource groups and social groups to foster connections and support across the firm. Janine is passionate about coaching and fosters an open-door policy for all colleagues, mentoring many leaders at CCS.

Janine’s passion for human resources and the nonprofit world extends beyond CCS, serving in leadership roles in numerous organizations including Women of Color, Women in Development, and Allies in Action. She played an integral role in the establishment of Women of Color’s Radiant Leadership group. In all her work in the human resources space, Janine fosters values of inclusion and respect. Her membership in Chief allows her to connect and learn with fellow women executive leaders and help peers work through leadership challenges.

Janine attended Rider University and majored in Public Relations with a minor in Journalism.

Ian Swedish, Managing Director, is a CCS Partner that leads the Philadelphia, Australia and networked nonprofit markets. His work spans organizations that are regional, national, and global in scale. Ian joined CCS in 2010 and brings over 22 years of experience overlapping support in the nonprofit and private sectors as a consultant and manager. He counsels nonprofit clients in strategic planning initiatives, feasibility analysis, data analytics, capital campaigns, and broad scale plan activation. He has led transformational initiatives across all sectors and the globe for clients that generate annual philanthropic revenue ranging from $3 million to $5 billion.

Ian has developed a deep skillset on the intersection of data and fundraising strategy. He led the firm’s data analytics special strategic planning initiative to develop a shared service platform working across CCS that provides stand-alone services such as predictive modeling, forecasting, and benchmarking for fundraising strategy and planning.

Additionally, Ian provides leadership of a private family foundation guiding strategy for over $50 million in assets and its annual philanthropic distribution. The foundation supports charities across the globe to create a more socially equitable and just world through the lens of education and opportunity. Ian also serves as a Board member for various organizations working in the nonprofit and education space.

Ian is an active member of the Philadelphia community and currently serves on boards at the PHILADELPHIA250 and Cristo Rey High School as well as a foster parent.

Ian holds an MBA and MPP from the Ross School of Business and the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. He received a BA in Philosophy from the University of Vermont and studied at the University of Wollongong in New South Wales.

Eric Javier is a Principal and Managing Director with CCS Fundraising, the largest fundraising strategy and management firm in the world.  For more than 20 years Eric has been a trusted advisor to leading nonprofit executives, trustees, and development leaders.  He has helped design and implement more than 200 fundraising campaigns and initiatives that have raised over $2 billion to make a positive difference in communities all around the world.  Eric’s primary areas of expertise include feasibility and planning studies; capital and endowment campaigns; major donor programs; principal gift solicitation strategies; strategic development planning; case messaging and storytelling; board development; and coaching and training.

“The truest definition of philanthropy is ‘love of humanity.’ It’s a privilege to work with passionate leaders who are working so hard to make positive change in the world. Philanthropy is the fuel that makes that change possible,” says Eric. Eric frequently speaks about philanthropy and development strategy at professional conferences, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), and the League of American Orchestras.

Eric is a proud graduate of Regis High School and the College of the Holy Cross. He resides in Westchester, NY with his wife, Kristin, their two daughters, and rescued dog, Oscar.

Ted Blackburn has been with CCS for nearly 20 years serving as advisor to organizations across the nonprofit spectrum, including healthcare, independent and higher education, human services, faith, environment and conservation, arts and culture, and advocacy. Ted has dedicated his career to bringing enthusiasm, expertise, and smart solutions to his nonprofit partners to advance their missions.

Ted’s experience includes development strategic planning, lead, principal and major gift programs, capital campaign planning and management, endowment fundraising, foundation and corporate giving, grassroots fundraising strategies, board development and engagement, data and analytics utilization, and volunteer and staff training. Over the course of his career he has designed, advised and directed dozens of resource development initiatives that have raised collectively over $10 billion, positively impacting people and communities of across country.

Ted is a recognized expert in philanthropy and has lead presentations and workshops for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), Counsel for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and Counsel for Advancement and Support of Education – National Associate of Independent Schools (CASE-NAIS). Ted is the Co-Chair of CCS Healthcare Practice Group and a longtime member of CCS Learning Faculty.

Ted is a graduate of Lafayette College and serves on the Lafayette Athletics Maroon Club Board of Directors. He is also the Chair of the Friends of Lafayette Lacrosse Leadership Council.

Since joining CCS in 2008, Miriam Droller has partnered with institutions across all sectors including higher education, healthcare, advocacy, arts, and culture, bringing to bear two decades of professional experience in strategic planning, major gifts fundraising, development department structure and operations, and campaign management for leading nonprofit organizations.

During her tenure, Miriam has managed transformative efforts including NYU Langone Medical Center’s recently celebrated $3 billion campaign; the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts’ recent $250 million campaign in support of the REACH, the first major expansion in the Center’s history; and NYU School of Law’s $540 million campaign. She has also served as lead counsel on special projects for organizations including the University of Florida, where she conducted a comprehensive assessment of the University’s $1.7 billion Florida Tomorrow Campaign; and the Public Theater and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, where she served as Interim Director of Development. Prior to CCS, she spent six years in development at Lincoln Center in institutional and individual fundraising roles.

Miriam received her AB cum laude from Harvard College and her MBA from the Yale School of Management. A dual US and Swiss citizen, Miriam resides in Manhattan and enjoys traveling, attending cultural events, and spending time in New York City’s parks.

In more than 20 years with CCS, Sevil (she/her/hers) has relished the opportunity to serve the strategic and philanthropic needs of noteworthy institutions making a difference in our neighborhoods, cities, nation, and around the globe. She has supported clients with financial targets ranging from $5 million to $1.6 billion through transformational philanthropic campaigns, fundraising capacity-building, narrative and story-telling facilitation, strategic planning, and board development.

Sevil has served and counseled organizations that span sectors including arts and culture, national advocacy, international NGOs, scientific research, independent and boarding schools, universities, and medical centers. A focus of her work has been supporting organizations in the social justice, civil rights, and humanitarian spaces. She has had the honor of partnering with both leading legacy and start-up organizations both in the US and globally on the front-lines of protecting democracy, upholding and advancing voting rights, supporting racial justice, and demanding gender equality. Lifting up the work of leaders and institutions that align with her own values is a cornerstone commitment, both personal and professional.

Sevil has a degree in Political Studies from Bard College and completed undergraduate studies at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa. She is on the Board of PEN American Center and the Advisory Board of WITNESS. She is a proud member of Chief, a private membership network focused on connecting and supporting women executive leaders.

She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, and is a mother to twins – her most important and demanding life work to date.  Her extra-curricular activities, although limited these days, include boxing, biking with her kids, listening to podcasts, and writing.

Greg Hagin, Principal & Managing Director, provides fundraising counsel and philanthropic advice to the nonprofit sector and social impact space. A former member of the CCS Board of Directors, he co-chaired the Innovation Committee and serves on the Finance and Audit Committee. Greg leads the firm’s Philadelphia, Sydney, and Toronto offices in addition to its Systems and Analytics practices. In his 20-plus years of experience, he has advised hundreds of executive leaders, philanthropic partnerships, and development initiatives that have raised over $10 billion collectively, positively impacting tens of millions of lives.

An accomplished writer and facilitator, Greg has taught for more than a decade at The Wharton School and the School of Social Policy & Practice at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been invited to speak at national nonprofit organizations, industry conferences, universities, and corporations. Greg is the co-author of AI in Fundraising, which addresses the potential of AI in modern fundraising practices.

In 2020, Greg joined the World Economic Forum in Davos, and in 2021 became a Mentor for Unusual Pioneers, a global program established by Yunus Social Business, the World Economic Forum’s Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs, and Porticus. Deeply committed to the nonprofit community, Greg is a former Board member at Fairmount Park Conservancy and a past Board President for Habitat for Humanity of Philadelphia. He serves on the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Board and is a member of the Union League of Philadelphia, Chairman’s Council for the Mann Center, and the Development Council for U.S. Soccer Federation.

After opening CCS’s flagship Philadelphia office in 2018, Greg was named to the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. He was later honored as one of Philadelphia’s Most Admired CEOs and in 2023, joined YPO. Since 2020, CCS Philadelphia has been recognized as a Top-25 Management Consulting Firm in the Book of Lists.

Greg earned his MBA from the Wharton School and BA from Boston College. He also studied abroad at the University of New South Wales and Singapore Management University. Greg began his career in sports broadcasting with NBC Olympics in Sydney and Salt Lake City, then ABC Sports in Japan and South Korea for the FIFA World Cup. He has visited, studied, and worked in 45 countries across all seven continents.

Caroline joined CCS in 2005 where she has consistently brought unconventional fundraising strategies to organizations with financial goals ranging from $10 million to $3 billion. Caroline is respected by her clients as a strategic thought partner, leveraging her close partnerships and trusting relationships to help cultivate novel ideas within fundraising.

Caroline’s experience also includes working intuitively with organization’s Boards of Directors. Her Board of Directors expertise encompasses strategic advice and coaching related to governance, roles and responsibilities, committee structure, fundraising, board assessments and board development.

Caroline’s tenure has taken place at the CCS headquarters in New York, NY where she is supported by a dedicated team of experts to guide client partnerships throughout the NY/NJ region and beyond. In the latter half of her career, Caroline’s professional experiences have expanded beyond the NY region with her advancements of global fundraising programs, where she has successfully led partnerships across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Caroline is a proud graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT where she received her BA in Political Science with a concentration in Political Dynamics of the Middle East; and of Columbia University in New York, NY where she received her Master of Science in Social Work.  She resides in Summit, NJ with her husband and three children, where she is involved in several local nonprofit and community-based organizations.
