  • Planning and management of a historic endowment campaign to ensure Jazz at Lincoln Center could preserve the rich tradition of America’s music long into the future
  • More than $84 million raised over two years

The Challenge

Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) is the only organization in the world dedicated to performance, education, and advocacy of Jazz music and culture. JALC celebrated a strong history of support for its programs and performances year over year. Yet, the organization had yet to build a bedrock of support in the form of an endowment to ensure it could preserve the rich tradition of America’s music long into the future.

The Solution

CCS led a planning study to assess and develop a strategy for conducting a major campaign to build the Jazz endowment. With a tailored and strategic approach, JALC moved forward with CCS to launch a historic endowment campaign by engaging supporters who wished to become part of the historical fabric and future of JALC. Campaign management included building a strong leadership team of volunteers, identifying prospects and developing strategies for personal visits, creating compelling naming opportunities to attract donors at the highest levels, and driving the fast-paced activity and innovative moves required to reach JALC’s ambitious goals.

The Impact

JALC celebrates having surpassed its initial goal in record timing by having raised over $84 million in under two years. Thanks to the vision and generosity of their loyal donors, JALC can look toward sharing the benefits of jazz with generations to come.
