The Full Story
Marc’s path into philanthropy began with a cause of his own: as a college student, he founded a nonprofit to support LGBT students on his campus, an early lesson in how a clear mission and committed people can change lives. More than 20 years later, that same conviction drives his work with mission-driven organizations to strengthen philanthropy and deliver transformational impact. Since joining CCS, Marc has advised a diverse portfolio of clients across education, healthcare, and social and human services, supporting institutions with both national and global reach.
Marc designs, advises, and directs fundraising initiatives across the nonprofit sector, helping organizations strengthen fundraising performance, build organizational capacity, and prepare for long-term growth. He has guided organizations through some of their most important moments, from assessing readiness for growth to planning and executing complex fundraising initiatives with goals exceeding $1 billion. Throughout his work, Marc helps leaders align strategy, people, and resources to achieve ambitious goals.
Marc is especially energized by the evolving frontier of philanthropy, advising clients on public-private partnership models and blended finance approaches that pair private giving with institutional and government investment to multiply impact. Whether working with established organizations or emerging programs, he helps leaders develop multi-year growth strategies and development plans that turn vision into measurable results.
Prior to joining CCS, Marc served as a Program Associate at the First Five Years Fund, a national advocacy organization focused on advancing federal early childhood education policy and funding in Washington, D.C.
Originally from California, Marc relocated to New York City in 2014 and currently resides in the West Village with his husband, Michael. He is actively involved in the nonprofit community and volunteers with several organizations, including iMentor, the American Cancer Society, and The Center in New York City. Outside of work, Marc enjoys running marathons, traveling, learning new languages, and exploring the city’s restaurant scene.
I believe the most powerful philanthropic initiatives are those that inspire people to invest in something that will outlast all of us.
