Nick has led a lifelong career working for – and being inspired by – mission-driven organizations. He is deeply passionate about helping nonprofits build capacity in order to maximize their positive social impact.
Nick came to CCS with over 10 years of experience in nonprofit management. He began his career designing and managing outdoor youth programs for the YMCA in Iowa and Utah. Nick then joined the Peace Corps where he designed and implemented a project that brought running water to his rural Paraguayan community. Following the Peace Corps, Nick joined a team of passionate environmentalists working at the Big Sur Land Trust to manage major gifts and grant funding.
Since joining CCS four years ago, Nick has managed multiple complex projects for clients across all nonprofit sectors. Nick brings an expertise in analytical thinking and strategic planning to all his client engagements. Most recently, Nick executed a project with Feeding America – the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization – to increase the capacity of 200 food banks to connect billions of pounds of food to people in need. Nick has extensive experience helping his many clients develop strategies to elevate their programs, diversify their funding, and build their capacity.
Nick received his B.A. from Luther College and an M.A. and M.B.A. from Middlebury Institute of International Studies. He spends most of his free time running, hiking, and volunteering for organizations that protect and manage open space. He resides in Portland, Oregon and enjoys exploring trails and skiing with his family.
